New Delhi: India and Russia held discussions on their ongoing military-technical cooperation and explored opportunities for co-production and co-development initiatives to further strengthen their strategic partnership in defence.
The inaugural session of the 24th Working Group Meeting of the India–Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation and Defence Industry was held in New Delhi, bringing together senior officials from both countries to discuss key areas of bilateral defence cooperation.
The session was co-chaired by Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary (Defence Production), Government of India, and Andrey A. Boytsov, First Deputy Director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC). Senior officials from India and Russia also participated in the deliberations.
The discussions focused on reviewing existing military-technical cooperation and exploring avenues for expanding collaboration through joint production and technology development.
The meeting underscored the continued engagement between the two countries in advancing defence industrial cooperation and reinforcing the India–Russia strategic partnership, with an emphasis on strengthening collaboration in military technology and the defence manufacturing sector.
